THS Moving Fund Contribution

THS needs to make a move. Help us out.
YEN500

THS will need to move house in July!

We need to save up about 500000 yen (thats a bit over 4 grand, USD).

Why so expensive?

Typically in Japan, you need to pay equivilant to 3 months rent in deposits, guarantor fees, leasing agent fees etc. In addition, we need a bit of cash to pay for trucks, gas, and starting utilities.

If you would like to help us out, you can make donations in 500 yen increments. Its a bit under 5 dollars. Just add as many to the cart as you like!

Pay by paypal using your account, or with credit card.

We start with functions, dive into concept of limit which forms the base of derivative and then move onto inverse of derivative, integral.

Summer 2012: Power tools drag racing!!!

08/01/2012 12:00

The second big contest for Tokyo Hackerspace will be a late summer 2012 event (so you have plenty of time to buy, modify and test your racer)

POWER TOOL DRAGS!

We will need to find a suitable venue for such an event, and I suspect that somewhere at the summer/fall MAKE will be the time and place.

The rules are simple:

1: Buy a power tool
2: Hack the power tool
3: DRAG RACE the power tool!

More info TBA, but you can get the idea from the image above.

Design Your Own Printed Circuit Board with Eagle- Part II: Board Layout Editor

01/21/2012 15:00
01/21/2012 17:00
Event Type:
Workshop

Eagle CAD is a PCB design tool used by many hackers around the world. It can be used on multiple operating systems, free for non-profit use (although a little bit limited) and has a nice learning curve. It has some drawbacks but if you are designing PCB's for a relatively simple project it is a nice choice. It is quite a detailed program and I'll divide it into 3 parts for focusing on different aspects of it. Part I is about using the schematic editor, part II is about board layout editor and part III is about library editor.

Hackers On A Plane at Tokyo Hackerspace

Hackers On A Plane is a hacker touring group led by the infamous Nick Farr. He organizes hacker trips to places like the annual XXC3 conference, CCC camp, and other prominent points of hacker interest. They also have been coming to Japan the past few years and we get the chance to show them around and hang out with all the other international hackers. Currently, they're in Tokyo for PacSec, AVTokyo, and hanging out at Tokyo Hackerspace.
